TERIMA KASIH untuk Alm JAVED ABIDI yang diakhir hidupnya FOKUS pada DISABILITAS KUSTA – REST AND PEACE
From SHEEBA ABIDI :
Day 2 of Nothing about us without us.
My brother Javed Abidi was determined to the point of eccentricity when it came to one’s right to self determination! In the last six to eight months or so I heard him talk so much about leprosy as a marginalized disability, it keeps ringing in my ears even now when he’s gone! He explained to me how there is a discrimination within the disability sector vis a vis people affected by leprosy and how important it is to bring people with leprosy (and other lesser known/less represented disabilities) to the forefront of the mainstream disability movement. At a recent event he went out of his way to make sure that people affected by leprosy participated in the event and not others on their behalf..
